One of the questions we get asked most often by expecting moms is,
"When is the best time to schedule maternity photos?"
The sweet spot is typically between 28 and 34 weeks of pregnancy. During this season, your baby bump is beautifully defined, but you're often still comfortable enough to walk the beach, move around with ease, and truly enjoy your session.
This summer has been full of maternity sessions along the Myrtle Beach coastline, and every single one has reminded me why these sessions hold such a special place in my heart.
Nate and Brianna's session was no exception.
They are such a beautiful couple, and it was such an honor to capture this exciting season before they welcome their little one into the world. There is something so peaceful about maternity sessions. They offer families the chance to slow down for an evening, soak in the anticipation, and celebrate the incredible journey of becoming parents.
One of the reasons we love beach maternity sessions is because the coast provides such a timeless backdrop. The soft light, ocean breeze, and open shoreline create photographs that feel simple, elegant, and focused on what matters most.
Many couples tell us they're nervous about being in front of the camera, especially during pregnancy. Our goal is always to create a relaxed experience where you can simply enjoy being together. I'll guide you through natural poses while also leaving space for the quiet, candid moments that often become favorites.
Those little glances, the excitement of feeling baby kick, a hand resting on your growing bump, and the smiles that happen without prompting are the moments that tell your story.
One piece of advice I always give expecting parents is don't wait too long to book your session. Maternity photography is best planned several weeks in advance so we can choose the perfect date before your calendar, and ours, fills up. Pregnancy can be unpredictable, and scheduling early helps ensure we photograph this season before your little one decides to arrive!
