There is something so special about documenting families during the little years, the years that feel beautifully chaotic, tender, fleeting, and full of life all at once. The Thebeau family’s session on the beach was exactly that kind of magic.
Having moved from Boston almost two years ago, Caroline and her beautiful family have fully embraced coastal living and all the sweetness that comes with raising little ones by the ocean. Their evening session felt relaxed, joyful, and deeply personal, the kind of session that reminds me why I love family photography so much.
Meet Pratt and Abbott. Pratt, at 5 years old, was full of personality and curiosity, while sweet little Abbott absolutely stole my heart at just 1.5 years old. Those tiny toddler years are always some of my favorite seasons to document because they are so wonderfully real.
During the session, Abbott was constantly on the move, running through the sand, exploring, giggling, and keeping everyone on their toes in the sweetest way possible. And honestly? That is exactly how sessions with little ones are meant to feel.
Over the years, one of the biggest things I have learned as a photographer is that family sessions with children are best when they are child-led. Rather than forcing perfection, I lean into the in-between moments, the cuddles, the laughter, the movement, the tiny hands reaching for mom and dad, the moments that genuinely feel like your family.
Sometimes family sessions with little ones can feel chaotic in the moment, but those are often the memories you will treasure most years from now. My approach is simple: you show up, love on your babies, make memories together, and I will capture the beauty in it all.
The Thebeau family’s session was full of those heartfelt moments that make my work feel so meaningful. Barefoot in the sand, wrapped in golden light, with the ocean breeze surrounding them, it was the perfect reminder that the most beautiful images are often the unplanned ones.
To the Thebeau family, thank you for trusting me to document this sweet season of your lives. It was such an honor capturing your beautiful family and all the love you share together.
Thank you for stoping by the blog,
Hosanna
