One of my favorite parts of being a photographer along the Carolina coast is discovering beautiful locations that feel unique to each family. While the beach will always be timeless, there's something so special about a session surrounded by towering oak trees, Spanish moss, and the peaceful beauty of the Lowcountry.
This sweet session with the Frederick family was the perfect example.
Having recently relocated to the Calabash area, they have been embracing everything they love about the Lowcountry lifestyle. Instead of heading to the beach, they chose the stunning grounds of Caledonia Fish & Golf Club for their family photos, a location that perfectly reflected this new season of life.
From the moment we started, this family was such a joy to photograph. Their two little boys kept everyone smiling with their playful personalities, and their sweet little girl happily soaked up all the love from Mom, Dad, and her big brothers. Watching siblings interact is always one of my favorite parts of a family session, and these three shared so many genuine moments together.
One of the reasons we love photographing families in places that are meaningful to them is because the location becomes part of the story. Years from now, these images won't just remind them of what their children looked like, they'll remember this exciting chapter of settling into a new community and making the Carolina coast feel like home.
Caledonia Fish & Golf Club is truly one of the most beautiful locations along the South Carolina coast. The moss-covered oak trees, winding pathways, and lush gardens create an elegant, timeless backdrop that feels completely different from the beach while still capturing the charm of the Lowcountry.
